Robert Wesley Whitney, Jr., 82, of Oxford, passed away April 20, 2016. Mr. Whitney proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired after 22 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Oxford Baptist Church where he devoted his time as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. James (Jim, Jimmy) Livingston Hicks, 90 ¾, of Covington, passed away April 20, 2016. Jim was a well-respected veteran of WWII, proudly serving as a first-class gunner's mate on Navy sub chasers. Through the years Jim's family was always his top priority. He provided for them for 50 years by representing sporting goods manufacturers in the Southeast and later from the family cabin on Jackson Lake. Mr. Hicks was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mitchell Hicks; son, David Anderson Hicks; grandson, Daniel Lee Hicks; and numerous immediate family members.
William "Bill" Boyd, 74 of Covington, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016. He was born in Atlanta to the late Clifford and Kathryn Park Boyd. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church of Conyers. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Bill was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife Joy Boyd in 2011 and his brother Ronald Boyd in 1998.
Ann Huber Jones, 77 of Oxford, passed away peacefully Friday, April 8, 2016, at Abbey Hospice. She was born in Moultrie to the late George and Ruby Trammell Huber. Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Methodist church all her life. Ann enjoyed her flower garden, cooking, art, loved her cats and Saint George Island. Most of all she loved her family and her grandchildren.
Gene N. Hardy, 72, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 9, 2016. He was born in Porterdale to the late Perry Lonnie and Florine Hardy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brother Tommy Hardy, sister Hazel McGiboney and daughter Tammy Lynn Hardy.
Mrs. Betty Vaughn Davenport, of Fayetteville, passed away April 9, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Talmadge Davenport and is survived by her sons, Steve Davenport of Covington, Brett (Bo) Davenport and his wife Peggy of Tyrone; sisters, Marjorie Gaston, Diane Williamson, Cheryl Hudson; brother, Ronnie Vaughn; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Robert Billy Smith, 87 of Covington, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Rockdale Medical Center. He was born in Geraldine, Alabama to the late Willie O. and Pearl Stone Smith. Robert was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed gardening, fishing and church channels on TV. Above all else he loved his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wives; Inez Smith, Virginia Smith, Maylar Smith; son Robert Smith; one sister; and brothers, Thomas Alvin, Frank Earl, William C., James H., and Buford Lee.

Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had a precious spirit, was fun-loving, loved flowers and lover her family. But most of all she loved the Lord. Tom was born on December 18, 1963, in Queens, N.Y. and grew up in Ulster County, New York and Palm Beach County, Florida.
