Mr. and Mrs. Ricky (Jean) Moss, of Social Circle, and Mr. and Mrs. Andy (Annson) Bates, of Oxford, would like to announce the engagement of their children Gennie Lynn Moss and Matthew Caleb Bates. Gennie is the granddaughter of the late Noah and Della Lawson of Frenchburg, Kentucky and the late Melvin and Mabeii Vloss o·f Rutledge. Gennie is a graduate of Eastside High School and attended Georgia Piedmont College. She is employed as a dispatcher with the Newton County 911 Department. Matthew is the grandson of Sonny McDonald, and the late Polly McDonald of Oxford and Loretta Bates and the late, Herman Bates of Oxford. Matthew is a graduate of Newton High School and attended Georgia Perimeter College and Georgia Piedmont College. He Is employed with Comusa Inc. The wedding will take place on September 12, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at the Georgia Wildlife Federation Alcovy Conservation Center on Hazelbrand Road in Covington.
