The Sergeant Newton DAR chapter is donating reading and activity books to some of the Free Little Libraries at Shiloh Methodist Church in Almon. 

“Summer is critical when students either leap ahead or fall behind, depending on resources, and potentially lose some of what they learned during the school year,” a press release stated. “This is true for 80% of children from lower-income families who lack access to books, learning resources and creative reading activities.”
