The Newton County Sheriff’s Office will host its first job fair from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, May 26 and 27 at the law enforcement facility, 151551 Alcovy Road in Covington.
Detention Officer and Deputy Sherriff positions are available. Recruiting personnel will conduct screening and interviews on-site. Those seeking jobs should wear business attire.

Minimum requirements for the positions include, but are not limited to a high school diploma or GED; the Georgia POST Peace Officer or the ability to obtain within six months of employment, and a valid driver’s license. Bilingual skills are preferred.
