The city of Covington recognized two of its municipal clerks following the City Council meeting on Monday, May 6 in honor of Annual Professional Municipal Clerks Week.

After the meeting, Covington Mayor Fleeta Baggett read a proclamation highlighting the work of City Clerk Audra Gutierrez and Deputy Clerk Amanda Huggins.

The City of Covington’s municipal clerks are responsible for everything from record keeping to open record requests. The proclamation stated that municipal clerks “serve as the information center on functions of local government and community.”
