There were an abundance of cop cars at the Walmart on Industrial Boulevard on Dec. 10., but not to respond to any crimes.
Rather, the city of Covington Police Department and Alcovy CASA Inc. partnered up once again for the annual “Shop with a Cop.” The event allows children in the Alcovy CASA program to shop with a police officer courtesy of the Police Who Care.
“Undoubtedly, one of our favorite annual traditions, we can’t thank Alcovy CASA, Inc. enough for allowing us to be a part of these children’s Christmas shopping experience,” a facebook post from the Covington Police Department read. “Every year, we are reminded that gifts are not always material things; they come in packages of smiles and wide eyed wonder, shy laughter and humble gratitude. May all of our citizens experience the joy this Christmas season that we have been gifted during our 2024 Shop with a Cop.”
