All Chick-fil-A coupons are not created equal. Some Newton County residents hoping to use an Internet coupon that entitled them to a free sandwich in celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week learned that lesson Tuesday.

According to Kristi Ogletree, restaurant marketing director for the Chick-fil-A at Newton Plaza, someone apparently posted "coupons’’ on Facebook that originated in Texas. Those are not good in Covington and are not official coupons, she said.

But the Covington Chick-fil-A did send out some 2,000 coupons to its business partners in education. These "official" Chick-fil-A coupons are printed with a hologram of the company logo, she said, and can be used at the Covington restaurant by anyone with a proper school ID, while supplies last.
