NEWTON COUNTY – The Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) is investigating an apparent hit-and-run that resulted in a 15-year-old’s death.
According to a news release from the NCSO, deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run on Highway 36 just south of Hummingbird Lane at around 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
The victim, who was only identified as a 15-year-old male from Covington, was found in the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene.
The NCSO states that evidence from the investigation has led them to believe that the suspect’s vehicle is “pearl white.” No other details were made available regarding the potential suspect and their vehicle.
