COVINGTON, Ga. - Covington Police Department Officer Matt Cooper underwent a successful surgery Wednesday to relieve pressure on his brain.
"Since sustaining his injuries on Monday, Officer Matt Cooper had some swelling on his brain," according to an update from Cooper's family. "Today he underwent surgery to relieve some of that pressure.
"Matt is currently out of surgery and recovering. According to his doctors, the surgery went well and Matt is doing well also."
CPD continues to ask for the community's support and prayers as Matt continues his recovery.
