COVINGTON, Ga. - Arrest warrants have been acquired for a Conyers man after a car accident turned into a shooting at a Covington residence Wednesday afternoon.
Around 4:50 p.m. Covington Police Department responded to 10110 Griffin Lane in reference to a car crashing into a house. Officers were informed two people were shot, a male and a female.
"During the investigation, officers discovered that there was a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg and a female victim with a gunshot wound to the arm," according to a Thursday morning news release. The victims' identities are being withheld at this time because it is an ongoing investigation.
Both victims were transported to an undisclosed medical center for injuries. Information on the medical center is being withheld because it is an ongoing investigation.
The shooter, identified by witnesses as Aaron Hunter, 23, of Conyers, reportedly ran from the scene in the direction of Allen Drive. Hunter's mother reportedly lives on Allen Drive and a search warrant was acquired for the residence, but Hunter was not located.
The vehicle information is being withheld because it is an ongoing investigation.
"Any other information about this case is being withheld at this time because this is still an ongoing investigation," according to the release.
