Vehicles entered, guns stolen in Oxford

OXFORD, Ga. – Two guns were stolen in separate car break-ins in Oxford overnight Tuesday, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.

A handgun and an undisclosed amount of cash were stolen from two vehicles at 130 Blue Grass Way between 9 p.m. Jan. 2 and 4:30 a.m. Jan. 3.

At 140 Blue Grass Way, a stainless steel Remington 300 Win Mag with a 44 mag scope was stolen from a truck parked at the residence. According to the report, the theft occurred between midnight and 5:50 a.m. Jan. 3.

Another vehicle was reportedly entered at 105 Blue Grass Way.  The car’s owner flagged down a deputy at 5:36 a.m. Jan. 3 to report her vehicle had been broken into. According to NCSO, electronics were stolen from the car.
