COVINGTON, Ga. — Catalata Hardeman proudly announces her candidacy for District 1 Newton County BOE seat. Hardeman has been a resident of Newton County since the age of 8. She is a mother of four with an associate degree in Business Administration while currently completing her bachelor’s degree.
She ran for public office in 2020 where she did not secure the seat but made her mark known in the community. She is the director of the resource ministry at Pleasant View Baptist Church and works tirelessly for the non-profit organization that she started in 2017, Breaking Boundaries Outreach, Inc. where she serves the elderly and troubled youth in her community.
During the pandemic, the entire world has been affected by pain, sorrow, and loss. Her vision for the community is to build a positive morale connecting families, teachers, staff, and especially children, She will work to make sure that [parameters] are put in place to help those children who have struggled with learning during these hard times. Mrs. Hardeman believes in finding a solution to identify and build sound emotional learning for our children as well as to assist with the climate change in Newton County. Hardeman wants to expand opportunities for the teachers to be able to voice their opinions and ideas in a way they feel their voice has been heard and that change is coming.
