A man was dragged from the bathroom and restrained to the floor, before being shot at a Covington residence Wednesday morning.

Covington Police officers responded to a 911 hang up call at 9138 Cecilia Street SW, in which a male and female were heard arguing in the background, just before 5:30 a.m.

When officers arrived and cleared the residence, they found a male lying in a back bedroom with blood on his lower abdomen.

According to reports, the man was conscious and told some of the 12 responding officers that three men forced their way into the residence.

“One of the males stood over him with his foot on Perry’s head and fired two shots into his abdomen,” he told officers.
CPD Capt. Craig Treadwell said the female at the residence was not harmed, and nothing was stolen from the house.
According to reports the subjects were black males wearing masks, dark clothing and black boots.

The victim was transported to the emergency room, and detectives have begun investigating and following up leads on the case.

“We are working diligently on this case,” Treadwell said. “This is not anything we are having a rash of, we believe it is one random incident.”

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the CPD at 770-786-7605.
