Why did you decide to run for this office?
- I am running for City Council Post 1 East Ward to bring fresh new ideas to address rising utility costs, responsible growth, lower taxes, industry & environmental issues, and government transparency.
The wholesome identity Covington is proud of and known for is threatened by city government expansion projects. The ongoing developments for oversized multi-family dwellings cause residents to pay the price in terms of higher cost of living, negative impact on infrastructure and loss of Covington’s character. I believe this is untenable and will force the families and elderly to leave in the name of progress. I would like to ask for your vote to uphold Covington’s character for generations to come.
What do you believe is the biggest issue facing your municipality, and, if elected, how do you plan to address it?
- The biggest issues facing Covington is the city government’s expansion projects, specifically the number of apartment complexes being approved within the city limits. We must take a hard look at our existing Planning and Zoning ordinances to ensure that they are in-line with current and future development so as not to overwhelm our infrastructure.
Finally, what do voters need to know about you?
- I am a native of the City of Covington. I reside in the historic district with my husband and son. I love our city and want what’s best for our citizens and community. I am seeking the privilege of public office to be a fresh voice to elevate our community while protecting its citizens. I will be diligent in making sure our city thrives while continuing to be an affordable, safe, welcoming, and livable city for all its residents.
