Joanne Deisenroth Schlageter of Social Circle, passed away October 14, 2010, at the age of 78. Mrs. Schlageter worked in real estate for 40 years. She was also a registered nurse for nearly 20 years, graduating from Rochester General Nursing with a bachelor’s degree. Mrs. Schlageter enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, sewing, knitting, reading, playing bridge, and was an artist specializing in oil painting. She loved the changing of the four seasons, traveling, especially vacationing at the beach. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, John Anthony Schlageter; parents, Francis Andrew and Marion (Weekes) Deisenroth; brother, Frank Deisenroth; and brother-in-law, Bill Baxter. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Jo and Steve Johnson of Roswell, Patti and Julius Lynch of Covington, Lynn and Bob Hardin of Conyers, Mary and J.R. Kinard of Mansfield, Judy Shepherd of Social Circle, Nancy and Frank Garner of Social Circle; sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Barbara Schlageter of Social Circle, Jay and Julie Schlageter of Greenwood, SC; 20 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Sula Baxter of Rochester, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Judy Deisenroth of Webster, NY; beloved pet, Lady Bug. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Sunday, October 17, 2010, from 4-7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, October 18, at 11:30 AM, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, in Conyers, with Father John Kiernan as priest-celebrant, and the rite of committal following in Lawnwood Memorial Park.
