Obituary: Michael Hodges

Michael (Mike) Stephenson Hodges, age 75, of Oxford, Georgia, died February 19, 2025. One of five children of the now late Hulon and Geneva Few Hodges, he was born January 16, 1950, in Porterdale, Georgia. Mike was a lifelong Newton County resident and graduated from Newton County High School and DeKalb Tech. He worked as a crane operator for Heaton Erecting before retiring. He was also a hunter and passionate cattle and hay farmer, a testament to his hard-working nature and his love for the outdoors .

Preceding him in death were his parents, Hulon & Geneva Hodges; sister, Karen Hodges; first wife, Patricia Breedlove Hodges; son, Wayne Glaze. Survivors include his wife, Catherine Cowan-Hodges; son, Kevin Glaze (Debra); daughter, Michelle Faith (Steven); siblings, William Hodges (Sue), Brenda Cason (Wayne), Kathryn Wheeler; grandchildren, Melinda, Blake, Justin, Austin, Zachary, Abigail, Brayden, Bentley, Sydney; step-sons, Kevin Courchaine (Latisha), Kerry Courchaine (LeeLynn); step-grandchildren, Summerlin, Bracey, Langley, Carson; great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew; as well as extended family; special cousin, Larry King.
