Belk department stores are once again having their Fall Charity Sale event. The four-hour in-store shopping event will take place on Nov. 6 from 6 to 10 a.m. and the proceeds from the special event ticket sales will go toward helping local charities, schools and other nonprofit organizations.

Charity Sale tickets are available at all Belk stores and through local nonprofit organizations in exchange for a $5 donation. The proceeds from tickets sold through local charities will be retained by each charity. Tickets will be on sale starting Oct. 29 at all Belk locations, with donations equally divided between participating charities and each local store.Delete - Merge Up

In exchange for the donation, customers will receive a ticket for the Charity Sale, which will allow them to purchase merchandise discounted 20-70 percent, including merchandise from rarely discounted brands. All customers will also receive $5 off their first purchase of $5 or more. Belk cardholders will also receive additional reward points for purchases.

Belk will also be holding special prizes for customers during the sale. When the doors open at 6 a.m., the first 100 customers in each store will receive a free Belk gift card. Three lucky winners company-wide will win a $1000 gift card. Additionally, all participating charities and schools will automatically be entered to win one of three $1000 donations from Belk in a company-wide drawing.

Belk has held this special charity event semi-annually since 2007 and has raised a total of more than $22 million for participating nonprofit organizations throughout the Southeast. The recent Spring Charity Sale held this year raised over $4.5 million for hundreds of nonprofit organizations in the Southeast.
