The Rockdale County Sheriff's Office recently named the 2014 employees of the year - Meredith Allen as the Civilian Employee of the Year, Maria Villanueva as Detention Deputy of the Year and Darius Warren as Deputy Sheriff of the Year.
Civilian Employee of the Year: Meredith Allen
Mrs. Meredith Allen is a dedicated hard working employee. Mrs. Meredith Allen was given several instrumental task in the year 2014 to help the Sheriff's Office run more efficient. Allen took on many projects and saw them through completion with an outstanding positive attitude. Allen currently serves as the quarter master in the Support Services Bureau and assists every Bureau of the RCSO. Allen has been employed with the RCSO since August of 2012.
Detention Deputy of the Year: Maria Villanueva
Mrs. Maria Villanueva began her career at the Sheriff's Office in May of 2013. Villanueva was highly recommended for Detention Deputy of the year by her peers at the RCSO. Villanueva is described as a hard worker and eager to learn. Villanueva possess all the honorable traits in which makes her a great asset to the RCSO. Villanueva is very committed to keeping the RCSO Jail safe and secure.
Deputy Sheriff of the Year: Darius Warren
Mr. Darius Warren began his career at the RCSO in June of 2013 where he started in the Jail Bureau. Warren was a very dedicated deputy in the Jail Bureau and was transferred to the Field Services Bureau in October of 2013. Warren is always volunteering to help in the Sheriff's Office in any way it is needed. Warren works extra shifts when the Uniform Bureau is short handed to ensure the safety of the Rockdale County Citizens. Mr. Darius Warren always comes to work with a smile and a positive attitude and is always eager to learn.
"I want to commend Mrs. Meredith Allen, Mrs. Maria Villanueva, and Mr. Darius Warren for all of their hard work and dedication not only to the Sheriff's Office but also to the citizens of Rockdale County" said Sheriff Eric J. Levett. "The RCSO has great employees who work here and choosing just one for each division is a tough decision. These employees chosen go above and beyond the call of duty to make the RCSO run more efficient and help to keep the citizens of Rockdale County safe."
Employees are nominated by their supervisors and are then forwarded to the Command Staff of the RCSO. The Command Staff, Chief Deputy and Sheriff then are tasked with reviewing the nominations and making the final selections. Many employees were nominated but only one employee in each category are selected. The employees chosen to receive these prestigious awards must possess many honorable traits and exemplify what the Office of Sheriff desires in every employee.
