Newton Rams rout Heritage 18-1, end three-game skid
The Rams completed the season sweep over the Heritage Patriots on Thursday in a big 18-1 win on the road.Along with earning the sweep in the season series, Newton ended a three-game skid ahead of a long region stretch.After errors plagued the Rams in their series loss to Grayson last week, head coach Delvin Jordan was pleased to see his team play clean baseball in all facets.“The last week and a half has been tough for us. I feel like we gave some games away against Grayson,” Jordan said.

Newton sends both teams to the next round after road wins in Sweet 16For the first time since 2017, both of Newton’s basketball teams are Elite Eight bound.On Friday, the Newton Lady Rams went on the road and pulled off the 59-49 win over an experienced and sized Norcross team. Newton wins semi-final games to set up rematches with Grayson for the region titeBoth of Newton’s basketball teams advanced to the Region 4-AAAAAA championship game after wins in the semi-final round of the region tournament at Archer High School.The Lady Rams began the day with a 67-57 win over the hosting Lady Tigers in a game that started well in Newton’s favor.Newton’s boys team battled a scrappy Grovetown squad before they grabbed a narrow 52-48 win.In both cases, the wins set up rematches with Grayson for the region title.February 14, 2025
